Really nice painting! But I'd love to see one where the firs aren't so sparse between the branches. One where the trees are thick and full, with a lot of heavy snow on top.

Hi, Kevin, One more day 'till Xmas. Another wonderful year has passed, filled with your beautiful paintings. I've been watching ever since you began these youtube paintings many years ago. Beautiful Kevin…thanks for making a DVD of this one…your explaination and close ups are wonderful. Allows for anyone to follow along. A nice warm radient scene…good lesson with painting snow and mixing colors.
Kevin this is a fine example of your works. Your skill in portraying color and light in this piece is exceptional. The stillness and quite of winter is elegantly captured in subtle and masterful ways. The Orange glow is illuminating-giving a sense of warmth despite a cold winter scene. As seen on the reflections in the brook. A nice balance of warm and cool hues within the lay of the land-with the transition between shadow and sunlight. Winter Sunshine is yet another example of Kevin's ability to capture a soft and peaceful scene with light and color.
Kevin, what is your estimate on drying time, and do you apply a varnish to your work when dried? Also, where is the best place to 'dry' oil paintings…seems that dust forms on mine b4 they are done drying. TY.
