Hi Kevin…I am a complete beginner to oil painting and am on my 5th painting which is one of your tutorials, 'Hidden Birch Trees'. I have also painted 'Mossy Falls' which I really enjoyed. I have a lot to learn but I was pretty pleased with my result. Your paintings are beautiful. I was wondering what is the natural hair filbert brush is made of. Is it hogs hair? If not can you let me know what it is? I am in the UK and can't order from you but I can get brushes from a art shop here. I really love the way you paint the birch tree trunks.

Beautiful paintings. I wish I had more time to really watch all of them. I’d like to see you really not jump ahead. The color is why many painters use a grey palette or prime their backgrounds from white there is a name for this type that famous painters did I just can’t think of it right now. And it looks like you are doing acrylic where that was mostly a oil painting method… getting old is he-double hockey sticks when you can’t think of something you know as well as your own name.

Kevin do you ever do I painting and about halfway through hit a wall where whatever you do It just isn’t going to come out right so you quit and start a new one.It happens to me in about one out of six paintings which seems a little high.
