Kevin Hill, being a deep-seaman for most of my long life, I have been drawn to your seascapes without the beach or shore included. I used to watch wandering Albatrosses gliding over the rough long-low swells over the sea after my watch. At eighty-two, I need to be more creative in my retired life. So, decided to take up painting seascapes with stormy night scenes and full Moon-light with acrylics. You clearly have the expertise I need to learn with me starting a complete novice. So, I have subscribed to your channel on YouTube.

5 Tips from Kevin:
*Frame yout artwork to showcase the best features
*Move your easel closer to the window to capture better sunlight variations of colour
*Use blue shop towels to blot excess oil grom painting
*Start painting with a big brush for underpainting, then end with a small detail brush
*Build depth in the underpainting

Hmmm, some people might dislike your frames but like your paintings so by imposing the frames on them they aren't able to see the painting.
Good painting doesn't need a frame at all!!

So Kevin those were great tips for someone like me who's never been to art school, but we dont get those blue shop towels here in India so what is the alternative? Or what is the material of those blue shop towels so that I can look for an alternative here?

These tips seem great for all kinds of painting and coloring. The tip about starting broad and working down to detail makes most sense to me along with working in natural light. I am in the process of moving but I hope to try these tips soon.
Tip 2. You forgot to mention it would be advantageous to favour a North facing window!

Having a hard time with water, I'm doing a breaching whale and I can't make the water coming off him as he is coming up, its hard to describe let alone paint, any ideas would be helpful
